FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Returning to the site of last year’s final Desert Spring Series event, The Gateway Tour has announced it will play its 2010 Gateway Tour Championship at Prescott Lakes Golf & Country Club in Prescott, Ariz., October 6th-9th. The top 36% of money-winners from the Desert Spring Series and the top 36% of money-winners from the Desert Summer Series will qualify for the 72-hole, walking-only event. The Tour will also hold a Pro-Am benefiting local charities preceding the Championship, on October 5th.

“We’re excited to return to Prescott Lakes again this year because it’s a perfect venue for a big event like this and our players loved playing up there last year,” said Ryan Pray, VP of Tour Operations. “The Gateway Tour Championship is an event that has earned the reputation of serving as great preparation for our players heading off to q-school each fall. So, we take careful consideration in choosing its venue each year because, as our mission states, we strive to do everything possible to best prepare our guys for qualifying for the PGA TOUR and always make sure we’re assisting them effectively in that manner.

“Prescott Lakes fits the mold perfectly in this regard and we’re excited for great conclusion to our 2010 season.”

The Gateway Tour will announce full details of the event, the Championship’s Pro-Am and its purse at a later date.
